Wizz Air low-cost airline to open flights to Turkistan and Almaty

Prime Minister Askar Mamin received Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air József VáradiDelovoy Kazakhstan reports.

Mr Váradi reported on the progress in implementing the results achieved in March 2021 within the framework of the visit of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan to the UAE, agreements on the launch of Wizz Air regular passenger air transportation on the routes Abu Dhabi - Almaty and Abu Dhabi - Nur-Sultan.

The parties also discussed the prospects for the opening of Wizz Air flights to Turkistan, Almaty and other cities of Kazakhstan, which are of interest to the international business and tourist community, as well as the organization of air cargo transportation to the most promising trade directions in the region and the world.

In addition, the airline has shown interest in organizing the production of new generation aviation fuel in Kazakhstan — sustainable aviation fuel.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Beibut Atamkulov and Deputy Chair of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms Zhaslan Madiyev.

Wizz Air is the largest low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe. The airline's fleet consists of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. In 2020, the company's passenger turnover amounted to 40 million people, revenue — 2.8 billion euros. The airline operates low-cost flights on 900 routes in 47 countries of Europe and beyond.
