The Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Maulen Ashimbayev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Tatsuhiko Kasai, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The interlocutors talked over further strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, including the issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation. The Senate Speaker emphasized that Kazakhstan pays great attention to the creation of a favorable investment climate.

“Our country continues its proactive efforts to attract foreign investors to the country and protect their rights. As instructed by the Head of State, senators have introduced the necessary amendments to the national legislation. Henceforth, investors will be exempt from corporate income tax, land tax, VAT and property tax for up to 10 years, depending on the amount, term of investment and place of work. This step is required to attract investors, including Japanese ones, to the country’s economy and implementation of new projects in such hard times,” Maulen Ashimbayev said.

The Senate Speaker also noted that the relations between our countries have been successfully developing in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. Japanese language centers at the T. Ryskulov Kazakh Economics University and the M. S. Narikbayev Kazakh State Law University serve a good example of this. Also, Maulen Ashimbayev thanked the Government of Japan for the help provided to our country during the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are grateful to the Government of Japan for the grant given for the purchase of Japanese medical equipment for Kazakhstani medical institutions. For us, the aid granted at such challenging times is a friendly gesture which is in line with the spirit of a mutually beneficial and reliable partnership between our countries,” the Senate Chairman noted.

The Speaker of the House emphasized that in these and other issues of bilateral cooperation, the Senate of Kazakhstan will keep working actively to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation between Kazakhstan and Japan.
