HE Mr.Berik Aryn, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, met with HE Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary General of the OIC, DKNews.kz reports.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on current issues on the international agenda, ways to further deepen cooperation between Kazakhstan and the OIC Secretariat, as well as discussed the progress of implementation of joint projects in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
Amb. B.Aryn expressed gratitude to the Secretary General for the continued support of Kazakhstan's international initiatives within the framework of the OIC, including the creation of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), the launch of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform on Science and Technology, etc.
In his turn, HE Mr. Hissein Taha emphasized the important role of Kazakhstan in the OIC and expressed hope for further constructive cooperation. He noted that the attention paid by the leadership of Kazakhstan to the development of science and education and the solution of food security problems deserve the highest praise. In this context, Mr. Hissein expressed gratitude for the decision of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomar Tokayev to allocate 100 scholarships for citizens of the OIC Member States to study in Kazakhstani universities.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue efforts to actively use the potential of cooperation between the OIC and Kazakhstan for the benefit of all Member States of the Organization.
