19 April 2024 in the frame of the European Year of Skills the European Training Foundation in partnership with the European Union, and the support of the Ministry of Enlightenment of Kazakhstan and NAO “Talap” will organise a one-day training event for 150 educators from various regions of Kazakhstan on the use of the new and innovative tool called SCAFFOLD. International team of expert educators will introduce the educators with the ways of transforming teaching practice, and Kazakh trainers who have been trained via DARYA SCAFFOLD will facilitate the teaching process. For the larger use in Kazakhstan, these SCAFFOLD cards were translated into Kazakh language, DKNews.kz reports.

This training day will show educators how to use SCAFFOLD - a tool, which is a deck of 102 cards, created to support educators in designing learning activities and guiding them step-by-step – from planning to assessment
SCAFFOLD helps educators of all levels to explore why and how to include key competences into their own innovative teaching and learning design. Through this, it helps educators to identify and cluster learning outcomes according to the teaching objectives, available resources, learning spaces and teaching duration.
SCAFFOLD is a tool to use before entering the classroom, to guide teachers/educators on how to articulate and deliver lessons and learning activities. It is suitable for any subject area and could be applied at any level of the education system or for any type of non-formal learning. The SCAFFOLD cards serve as ‘bricks’ helping educators in building learning experiences creatively, according to their goals and learner needs.
