March 26th, a groundbreaking ceremony for a new block was held at SDU University with the support of Freedom Holding Corp. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Marat Sultangaziyev, Akim of Almaty region, and Timur Turlov, Chief Executive Director of Freedom Holding Corp.
On a total area of more than 5,600 square metres, a modern educational building will be built, which will allow students to use artificial intelligence-based technologies in various application areas. It is also planned to open a Freedom space area with artificial intelligence labs in robotics, cybersecurity, sports programming and machine learning.
Moreover, laboratories of a unique type allow students to combine theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge. The campus will also have an interactive financial literacy centre where students can learn the basic principles of investing and trading from Freedom Academy experts.
In addition, the new block of the university should become a hub for research in the field of Fintech innovations and other areas, as well as for holding various events, conferences and seminars. Conditions will be created for productive study and comfortable recreation areas.
The construction of the building is going to be built by Freedom Holding Corp. and is sponsored by a subsidiary of the Freedom Shapagat Charitable Foundation. The volume of funding will amount to 1.8 billion tenge.
