The spring holiday of Nauryz was celebrated with a fashion show of national clothing made from silk of the peoples of Central Asia by the Kazakh brand «Nomad Threads», DKNews.kz reports.
The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Brazil together with the Club of Spouses of Heads of Diplomatic Missions (GCCM), which includes more than 70 members from among the spouses of Ambassadors of foreign countries and heads of international organizations accredited in Brazil.
The summer silk collection was specially made for the show in Brazil and became the personification of the symbiosis of folk traditions and elements of modern sewing art and design, characteristic of the peoples of Central Asia.
In her speech on the occasion of the holiday and fashion show, the current President of the GCCM club, the wife of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil, Mrs. Gulnaziya Nussupova, spoke about the history and traditions of celebrating «Nauryz» in the countries of Central Asia, and also presented the ancient culture of national clothing in the region. The event, held under the motto «The New Silk Road of Fashion and Design in Brazil», was attended by representatives of Brazilian intellectual circles, the media and the wives of heads of diplomatic missions of foreign countries.
The demonstration of a collection of silk suits of ultra-fashionable design aroused great interest among the guests of the event, as evidenced by numerous reviews and comments.
It should be noted that the show was accompanied by the Kazakh dance «Kamazhay» by the Embassy’s children’s group, as well as national musical works performed by Kazakh flutist Anuar Temirov and American pianist Jennifer Heemstra. According to the tradition of the Kazakh Embassy, at the end of the event, the distinguished guests were presented with dishes of national cuisine in a wide variety.
